Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about KareAid’s mobile wellness services? Find answers to common questions about how our massage and assisted stretching sessions work and benefit you.
What are the benefits of mobile massage and assisted stretch services?
Clients enjoy the convenience, privacy, and comfort of receiving services without needing to travel. This service can save time and reduce post-session stress by allowing you to relax immediately after your visit with one of our providers.
How do I prepare for a mobile massage session?
A provider will bring all necessary equipment, including the table, so just make sure that there is ample space to spread out, relax, and be comfortable.
What are your cancellation and rescheduling policies?
We recognize that sometimes “life” happens, so you can cancel or change your confirmed appointment at no charge within one hour after booking it. If you need to cancel or change up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled and confirmed session, you will be charged 50% of the service fee with the remaining 50% refunded directly to your credit or debit card or, at your option, used toward the cost of a future booking.
We allow a 20-minute grace period if you run behind for a booked session. After the 20 minutes, our provider will leave and the session will be considered a “no show” and charged at the full cost with no refunds available. Similarly, cancellations within 1 hour of your scheduled and confirmed appointment will be charged in full.
If inclement weather or travel disruptions prevent service delivery, appointments will be rescheduled at no extra cost to you.
Emergencies or sudden illness may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us as soon as possible.
Clients may cancel or reschedule via phone, text, or email, but a confirmation of cancellation must be received to avoid charges.
How do you vet your providers?
The safety of our clients as well as our reputation are chief concerns. Our providers undergo criminal and malpractice background checks before being onboarded with us as a result. At the same time, we verify licensure and, where appropriate, certification while validating qualifications, experience, and whether the provider carries professional liability insurance. Just as importantly, we will always assess the interpersonal and communications skills of each provider to make sure that they not only fit our high cultural standards but that they are exceptional representatives of KareAid in delivering experiences that are consistently the absolute best that you can ever have.
What is your policy regarding a refusal of service?
A refusal of service will never be based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. However, our services may be refused or discontinued by any of our providers under the following circumstances:
- Safety Concerns: If the provider feels unsafe due to threats, violence, or hazardous conditions at the client’s specified location.
- Inappropriate Behavior: Harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward our personnel.
- Medical Unsuitability: If the client’s condition exceeds the scope of care the provider is licensed or equipped to deliver.
- Environmental Hazards: Presence of unsanitary conditions, infestations, or lack of basic utilities
- Legal or Ethical Conflicts: Requests for services that violate laws, professional ethics, or licensing regulations
In each of these instances, the refused or interrupted session will be charged in full with no option for refund with the possibility of rescheduling solely at the discretion of KareAid management.
What about parking or special instructions?
When booking an appointment, we ask that you give us as much detailed information as possible about parking and building access. If parking at your location or someplace nearby is not free, a minimum $10 surcharge will be added to the cost of your session as reimbursement to our provider. If building access is restricted, please either be prepared to meet your provider in the lobby or arrange for someone you trust to let them in at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled session time.
Are your services covered by my health insurance?
We are not affiliated with any health insurance provider, so it’s unlikely that our wellness services will be covered. Some plans, however, may cover medically necessary massage or stretching for injury rehabilitation or pain management, especially if prescribed by a doctor and with prior approval by the insurance company. Before booking with KareAid for reasons other than relaxation and relief, it’s essential to check your specific policy and talk to your provider to confirm coverage.
If direct insurance coverage is unavailable, you can often use funds from a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) in certain circumstances to pay for medically necessary services with a doctor’s Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). Again, before you book an appointment with us, it’s a good idea to confirm with your HSA/FSA administrator or HR representative that the service is covered.
Do you offer subscription or membership plans?
No, and that’s the beauty of KareAid! Long-term commitments with limited flexibility tend to deter people who prefer month-to-month options. In addition, as more modern services move to subscription models, people are becoming increasingly wary of recurring charges. KareAid’s different because our clients never have to worry about program auto-renewals and being locked into contract subscriptions and memberships that don’t fit either their busy schedules, time and lifestyle concerns, and preferences for privacy and convenience. Our only plan is “pay as you go”.
What are the rates for your mobile wellness services, and do you accept credit and debit cards?
Not including a potential add-on charge of $10.00 if one of our providers has to pay for parking, KareAid’s standard rate is $120.00 for each 50-minute massage or assisted stretch session. We understand that there might be those who consider that a bit expensive compared the rates charged at many “brick and mortar” spas and salons. What sets our mobile wellness service apart isn’t just convenience—it’s the personalized care, licensed expertise, and the time you save by having wellness come to you. Our rate reflects not just the session itself, but the travel, setup, and tailored experience we deliver every time. Think of it this way: you’re not just paying for 50 minutes of service—you’re investing in your health, your time, and your peace of mind. And unlike a spa or clinic, we bring everything to you, so you can relax in your own space without the stress of commuting or waiting. All credit and debit cards are accepted with built-in transaction fee of 3.5%.
Are your rates different across the audiences you serve?
Yes. Our standard rate of $120.00 per session applies specifically to busy individuals, seniors, and anyone receiving assisted living care. Business and organizational rates center on desk and chair massages, group stretch sessions, and wellness coaching. These rates are therefore predicated upon a contractual arrangement to support either a multi-month commitment as part of an overall strategic wellness solution or a single wellness event. For those prospective clients interested in seeing the measurable benefits that come from reduced absenteeism, improved morale, and stronger engagement, we are happy to propose how to start with a pilot program to demonstrate the impact before scaling. Contact us to learn more about setup, customization, and the reporting you need to show ROI.
Can I book a same day session?
No. Our providers maintain set schedules that allow them to confirm and plan for bookings up to 24 hours before an appointment. This guarantees their availability for when requested and your assurance that their scheduled time and focus will be totally on you.
How long do sessions usually last?
Right now, KareAid is scheduling session lengths of 50 minutes each. In the future, shorter or longer appointments may be available based on your needs and the provider’s offerings.
How do I know that a provider is safe to come to my home, office, or hotel?
Our mobile services will frequently involve people – clients and providers alike – who do not know each other. Therefore, you should always verify your provider’s credentials i.e. their name badge and ID upon their arrival. Similarly, our provider will ask you to verify your identification against the information captured in our system at the time an appointment is made. This is our way of ensuring the peace of mind of each party thereby fostering an atmosphere of security and comfort before, during, and after every session. If you require additional assurances, please do not hesitate to discuss any concerns before your appointment.
What about hygiene and safety protocols?
Our licensed providers follow strict hygiene and safety protocols. KareAid also constantly monitors the health and safety guidelines established by federal, state, and local agencies surrounding the delivery of health and wellness services.
What areas do mobile massage therapists serve?
Our coverage areas vary by provider. Be sure to check if your location is within our service range when booking an appointment.
How do I pay for my mobile massage and assisted stretch sessions?
To prevent the potential for fraud and abuse, KareAid only accepts electronic payment upfront once a session has been booked using our scheduling platform.
Should I tip my mobile massage therapist?
While tipping is not required, it is customary to tip your provider 15-20% of the service cost if you are satisfied with your session.
Can I request specific massage and stretch techniques or focus areas?
Yes, communicate your preferences and any areas of concern to your provider before your session begins to ensure you receive a personalized experience.
Are there any health conditions or injuries I should tell you or inform my provider about before my appointment?
Before your massage or assisted stretch session, it’s important to inform your provider about any health conditions or injuries you may have. Some conditions to note include recent surgeries, broken bones, sprains, strains, or joint dislocations. Additionally, mention any chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or respiratory issues. If you have skin infections, open wounds, or contagious conditions, be sure to disclose these as well. Let your provider know about any allergies—especially to oils or lotions — so they can make necessary accommodations.
What should I prepare in my home or space before the therapist arrives?
For a mobile massage or assisted stretch session, you should prepare a space that is at least 6 feet by 8 feet to ensure the therapist has enough room to set up their equipment and move comfortably around you. The area should be clear of furniture and obstacles, with enough privacy and calm to create a relaxing environment. If possible, choose a quiet spot with good lighting and ventilation to enhance your overall experience.
Do I need to provide any equipment, or will the therapist bring everything necessary?
You do not need to provide anything. Our provider will bring everything needed for a safe, relaxing and rejuvenating experience.
How long will the session last, including setup and breakdown time?
Sessions are typically booked for 50 minutes, not including a 10 minute setup break down time.
What should I wear or avoid before my session?
Make sure that you wear something that is not restrictive. Comfortable, loose clothing is always best.
Is there anything I should do or avoid following my massage (e.g., hydration, rest, activity limits)?
After your massage or assisted stretch session, you should avoid strenuous physical activities for several hours to allow your body to fully recover. Refrain from consuming alcohol or caffeine immediately afterward, as these can dehydrate your body and counteract the benefits of your session. It’s also best to avoid hot showers or baths right away, as your muscles and tissues need time to adjust. Instead, focus on staying hydrated and resting to maximize the positive effects of your treatment.
Are there recommended stretches or self-care tips to prolong the benefits of my session?
To help maintain the benefits of your massage or assisted stretch session, consider incorporating gentle self-care routines at home. Recommended stretches include simple movements like neck rolls, shoulder shrugs, gentle hamstring stretches, and spinal twists. These can help maintain flexibility and relieve tension between sessions. Additionally, practicing mindful breathing exercises, staying hydrated, and using a foam roller for light muscle release can support your recovery and prolong the positive effects of your treatment. Always listen to your body and avoid any movements that cause discomfort or pain.
How soon can I book my next appointment for optimal results?
For optimal results, it is generally recommended to book your next massage or assisted stretch session within 1 to 2 weeks following your initial appointment. This frequency allows your body to fully benefit from the treatment while maintaining flexibility and reducing tension over time. However, individual needs may vary, so consider consulting with your provider to determine the ideal schedule based on your personal goals and physical condition.
Who should I contact if I experience discomfort or have follow-up questions?
It is not unusual to sometimes feel a bit sore after a massage or assisted stretch. It is quite common actually and a sign that your body is responding to the therapeutic work through a release of tension and a circulation boost. If the soreness lasts for more than a few days or feels sharp instead of achy, you should immediately check in with a doctor. Otherwise, it is just your body saying “Thanks for the tune-up!” Should you have any follow-up questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us at 410-864-0228 or info@kareaid.com
How can I provide feedback about my experience?
KareAid is invested in providing exceptional personal wellness services. Please feel free to rate your experiences and provide feedback on where and how we can improve directly on our website in the area designated.
